All-Iowa Conference Football Teams Announced
COE'S BOYLE NAMED MVP
COE'S STAKER NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR

(Cedar Rapids, Nov. 20) — The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has released its 2009 All-Iowa Conference Football Teams. The league also announced that Coe quarterback Brad Boyle has been named the 2009 IIAC Football Most Valuable Player and Coe head coach Steve Staker has been named 2009 IIAC Coach of the Year.

Brock Worley Takes Over Cornell Golf Positions
(Mount Vernon, Nov. 18) Cornell College has named Brock Worley as its new head men's and women's golf coach, Rams Director of Athletics John Cochrane announced Wednesday. Worley, a two-year standout on Cornell's men's golf team from 2003-05, takes over for Dave Roe, who stepped down due to family and professional commitments. Roe had coached the men's and women's teams since fall 2008.

Matt Dillon Resigns Head Football Post at Cornell College
(Mount Vernon, Nov. 17) Matt Dillon announced Tuesday his resignation as Cornell College's head football coach. Dillon completed his fourth season at the helm with Saturday's 56-7 loss at Coe. The Rams finished 2-8 overall, 1-7 in the Iowa Conference. Dillon finished with a 6-34 (1-31 IIAC) record on the Hilltop.

(Cedar Rapids, Nov. 17)Luther College junior linebacker Kyle McGivney (Apple River, Ill./Warren) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for Week 11 of the 2009 football season. It is the second time McGivney has been named to the Team of the Week (Nov. 3).

LORAS' ROTHERT, DUBUQUE'S BERNA NAMED COACHES OF THE YEAR

(Cedar Rapids, Nov. 17) — The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has released its 2009 All-Iowa Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Teams. The league also announced that Loras midfielder Santiago Mejia and Dubuque forward Sara Fassbinder have been named the 2009 IIAC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Most Valuable Players. Loras men's coach Dan Rothert and Dubuque women's coach Jason Berna have been named 2009 IIAC Soccer Coaches of the Year.

NCAA Cross Country

Five IIAC Cross Country Teams, Wartburg's Kraayenbrink Finish in Top-10 at NCAA Central Region Championship
(Grinnell, Nov. 14) Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Cross Country women's champion Wartburg College took third, while men's champion Luther College took sixth to lead all league teams at the NCAA Central Region Championships held Saturday at Oakland Acres Golf Course near Grinnell. A total of five IIAC teams (two men and three women) and Wartburg's Anna Kraayenbrink finished in the top-10.

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced January 17 that former Coe College volleyball player Kristy Upah (Toledo, Iowa/South Tama) and former Wartburg College football player Kyle Duchman (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) have been selected as the Duane Schroeder IIAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year for the 2007-08 academic year.
