CENTRAL'S RANDERIS AND BUENA VISTA'S WEBER NAMED IIAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that Central College basketball player Jen Randeris (Audubon, Iowa/Audubon HS) and Buena Vista University basketball player Scott Weber (Audubon, Iowa/Audubon HS) were named IIAC Female and Male Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 30.

Randeris, a senior center, averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in victories over St. Olaf College (79-73) and Nebraska Wesleyan College (70-69 in OT). She shot 66.7 percent from the floor (14-of-21) and connected on all 13 of her free throw attempts during the week including 10-of-10 against Nebraska Wesleyan. Randeris scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds (2-4) against St. Olaf. Against Nebraska Wesleyan, she scored 26 points, had 10 rebounds (4-6) and one assist.

Weber, a senior center, averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in victories over defending NAIA Champion Northwestern (Iowa) College (81-74) and 2003 NCAA national runner-up Gustavus Adolphus College (63-59). He shot 58.3 percent from the floor (14-of-24) and 80 percent from the free throw line (12-of-15). Weber scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds (1-5) in the victory over Gustavus Adolphus. Against Northwestern, he scored 21 points, had nine rebounds (1-8) and six assists.
