CORNELL'S LEHR NAMED TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today the Cornell College junior Kent Lehr (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) was named IIAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 6.

Lehr went 5-0 during the week with two victories at #1 singles and #1 doubles, and one victory at #2 doubles. In singles play, Lehr defeated Monmouth (Ill.)’s Jared Kunkle (6-3, 6-2) and Grinnell’s Julian West (6-1, 6-2). He teamed with Tom Jennings to post 8-4 and 8-6 victories over Monmouth (Jared Kunkle/Brian Jordan) and Grinnell (Brij Patnaik/Jordan Lee), respectively, at #1 doubles. Lehr and Seth Henson posted an 8-0 victory over Buena Vista’s Brock Wheeler/Jeff Shinrock at #2 doubles.
