Unkrich, Simpson College, Winfield, Iowa/Mount Pleasant Unkrich, a junior quarterback, threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 110 yards on 17 carries while leading the Storm to a 24-17 overtime victory over Central. Unkrich is the first Simpson quarterback to rush for over 100 yards in a game since Travis Dietz ran for 112 yards against Cornell last season. |

Harvey, Wartburg College, Robins, Ill./Harold L. Richards Harvey, a freshman running back, became the first Wartburg running back since 2004 to go over 200 yards in a game with his 214-yard performance in a 20-13 overtime win over Dubuque. He scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Knights claimed the outright conference title and automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Football Championship. Harvey led a 250-yard team rushing attack, the most in a game for Wartburg since 2006. |

Blesz, Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa/Kirksville (Mo.) Blesz, a sophomore kicker/tight end, was called to duty following the late scratch of starting kicker Taylor Buhmeyer and went 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts and made a 27-yard field goal with 5:19 remaining in the game which proved to be the margin of victory in the Duhawks’ 31-28 win over Central. The win was Loras’ first in Pella since 1941. Blesz, who also caught two passes for 16 yards, was kicking at the collegiate level for the first time. |

McGrew, Loras College, Van Horne, Iowa/Benton Community McGrew, a senior running back, has rushed for over 100 yards and reached the end zone in every game so far in 2008. In a 42-6 win against Dubuque, the team captain ran for 234 yards on 29 carries with five touchdowns, tying Loras’ single game mark. He also eclipsed the 1,000-yard plateau with his performance against the Spartans. McGrew also punted eight times with a 38.5-yard average and returned four punts for 50 yards. Vetter, Wartburg College, Nashua, Iowa/Nashua-Plainfield Vetter, a senior wide receiver, recorded his second 100-yard plus performance in the last three games and caught two passes, including the game-winner, in a 27-21 win over Coe. He moved into first place in the league’s receiving charts with his 4-catch, 160-yard effort. |

Donscheski, Buena Vista University, Dunlap, Iowa/Boyer Valley Donscheski, a sophomore running back, rushed for three touchdowns to help lead Buena Vista to a thrilling 26-21 come-from-behind victory over Wartburg. 51 of his 78 rushing yards came on two fourth-quarter scoring drives, which he capped off with touchdown runs of 1 and 8 yards, respectively. He now sits with 10 career rushing touchdowns and is 59 rushing yards shy of 1,000 in his career. He also assisted on one tackle. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week) |

Reutzel, Simpson College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Prairie Reutzel, a senior running back/punter, carried the ball 23 times for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the Storm’s 28-9 win over Luther over the weekend. Reutzel scored on runs of 53 and 22 yards and also had a 19-yard reception. He also punted four times for 188 yards, averaging 47 yards with a long of 54. |

Herzberg, Wartburg College, Iowa Falls, Iowa/Iowa Falls Herzberg, a senior placekicker, hit the game-winning field goal with 40 seconds remaining as Wartburg upended three-time defending Iowa Conference champion Central Sept. 20. He hit two field goals, pushing his career mark to 25, as the Knights ended the Dutch’s 28-game regular season win streak. It was the first final minute field goal of Herzberg’s career. Yordi, Wartburg College, Solon, Iowa/Solon Yordi, a junior quarterback, threw for a single-game career high 313 yards and four touchdowns, as Wartburg defeated St. Norbert 44-20 in its season opener. He accounted for all but 68 yards of the Knights’ total offense. Yordi threw for over 300 yards for the second time in his career and threw three-or-more touchdowns for the fifth time.
