Mar. 2
Guy Dierikx, Central College, Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale
Dierikx, a senior, scored 38 points for the Dutch with one individual and two relay titles and a runner-up individual finish. He won the 400-meter dash (48.74) with a meet and NCAA provisional qualifying mark and finished second in the 200-meter dash (22.53). He also ran the opening leg of Friday's winning 4x200-meter relay (1:30.58) and the anchor leg of Satuday's winning 4x400-meter relay (3:25.11). Dierikx is the first Central student-athlete to receive IIAC indoor track and field MVP honors.

Andy Hodge, Wartburg College, Marion, Iowa/Marion
Hodge, a senior, won the 800-meter run (1:57.52) and helped lead the Wartburg men’s distance medley relay to a provisional qualifying effort (10:04.18) at the Wartburg Invitational. The relay’s time is currently among the top six in the country.
Feb. 17
Kevin Balster, Wartburg College, Monticello, Iowa/Monticello
Balster, a senior, broke the school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 5000m run with a time of 14:29.24 at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Classic. Balster, whose time currently ranks among the top-five fastest times in the country, eclipsed the Wartburg mark set by multi-time national champion and All-American Josh Moen by nearly five seconds (old record was 14:34.18). Shawn Olorundami, Buena Vista University, Sioux City, Iowa/West
Olorundami, a senior, captured individual titles in the 55-meter hurdles (7.75) and the 200-meter dash (23.03) during the Dennis Young Indoor Track and Field Classic Feb. 9. His time in the 55 hurdles set a new meet record and was also an NCAA provisional qualifying time.

James Klobucar, Cornell College, Janesville, Wis./Craig
Klobucar, a senior, won the 55-meter hurdles with a personal-best and NCAA provisional time of 7.63 seconds at the Hilltop Open Saturday. He also took sixth in the 200 (:23.22) and ran the opening leg on Cornell’s ninth-place 4x400-meter relay.
Jan. 27

Kyle Calvert, Loras College, Pekin, Ill./Pekin
Calvert, a junior, provisionally qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships with a second-place effort in the pole vault at Saturday’s UW-Whitewater Invitational. Calvert cleared 4.72m (15-5 ¾). It was his first competition of the year.

Jan. 20

Orlando Walton, University of Dubuque, Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon
Walton, a junior, provisionally qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division III Championships in the 55-meter dash with a winning time of 6.42 seconds at the UW-Platteville Open. It was the first race of the year for Walton, who led a Spartan sweep of the top three positions in the field of 36 competitors.
