IOWA CONFERENCE UNVEILS NEW LOGO

MOUNT VERNON, IA . . .  The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) unveiled its new logo on Thursday.  The design, produced by Paul Sieka, a graphic design student at Iowa State University, features the Conference name and widely accepted abbreviation (IIAC) in bold black block letters with a green swoosh around the left side and over the top.

“We are very pleased with this new graphical representation for the Iowa Conference,” IIAC Commissioner John Cochrane said.  “Our goal was to modernize our logo, and in doing so, continue to improve the visibility of the Conference statewide and regionally.”

The block format was selected to represent the essence of a collegiate organization and the strength and stability that is indicative of the Iowa Conference.  The green coloring was used as it is the neutral color among the 10 member institutions and is reflective of Iowa’s agricultural economy.
