Saeugling, Wartburg College, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Saeugling, a senior pitcher/utility player, led Wartburg to the Iowa Conference Baseball Tournament title and the school’s ninth appearance in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship field. During the tournament, he led the Knights in batting average (.471), slugging percentage (.588), and hits (8), and also tied for the team lead in RBIs (6) and doubles (2). He also pitched seven innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three in Wartburg’s 7-1 tournament win over Central. |

Martijn, Wartburg College, Oranjestad, Aruba/Kirkwood CC Martijn, a junior outfielder/pitcher, led Wartburg in RBIs and was a co-team leader in home runs, runs scored and doubles as the Knights went 4-0 during the final week of the regular season and wrapped up its 12th consecutive conference title. He hit .533 with 14 total bases and a sparkling .933 slugging and .588 on-base percentage. He was also the winning pitcher in the title-clinching win over Dubuque April 30 and enters the IIAC Tournament on a 10-game hitting streak. |

Schneden, Loras College, Burlington, Iowa/Burlington Schneden, a senior outfielder, led Loras to a 4-1 record on the week, including a three-game weekend sweep of Cornell. He hit .467 (7-of-15) on the week with 10 RBI, two doubles, two home runs, and six runs scored. All 10 of his RBIs came against Cornell, including nine in a Friday doubleheader. The sweep of the Rams helped to vault Loras into fifth place in the league standings as the IIAC regular season enters its final week. |

Dawson, Simpson College, Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk Dawson, a junior first baseman/pitcher, hit .722 on the week with two doubles, six RBI, and five runs scored as the Storm posted a 5-0 record last week. In a three-game weekend series against Coe alone, Dawson hit 10-for-12 with five RBI, and five runs scored. He also made only one error in 36 chances in the field and recorded a strikeout in one inning of work in Simpson’s 7-5 non-conference win over Grinnell April 15. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week) |

McClaflin, Simpson College, Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk McClaflin, a senior first baseman/third baseman, hit .533 with six RBI, three doubles, and a run scored as Simpson split four IIAC games. He picked up five hits against Loras April 13, including a 3-for-4 performance in the second game. McClaflin also made only two errors in 43 chances in the field. |

Martijn, Wartburg College, Oranjestad, Aruba/Kirkwood Community
College Martijn, a junior pitcher/outfielder, ended a three-game weekend set against Loras with a sparkling 1.182 slugging percentage and a .643 on-base percentage as the Knights took two of three from the Duhawks. He led the team with seven hits, three doubles, six RBIs and a home run. He took over the team lead in multiple-RBI games (five total) with two during the series. Martijn also pitched two innings of relief in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, picking up a save. |

Martijn, Wartburg College, Oranjestad, Aruba/Kirkwood Comm. College Martijn, a junior pitcher/outfielder, helped guide Wartburg to a key early-season conference sweep of Luther in a battle of the 2007 league co-champions March 28-29. He also scored the game-winning run in a 3-2, 13-inning win in game one and drove in the winning run in game two. He fired six and one-third innings of shutout ball in the series finale and hit a triple as part of a 3-for-11 effort at the plate in the series. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week) |

Mahan, Central College, West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley Mahan, a senior pitcher, went 2-0 with a 3.21 earned-run average and 15 strikeouts. He started the week by pitching the first seven innings of Central's 8-7, eight-inning win over Augsburg where he struck out 10 while allowing seven runs on seven hits. Mahan followed that up by throwing a complete-game one-hitter March 23 as the Dutch the first game of an IIAC doubleheader against Simpson. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week) |

Reis, Simpson College, Coon Rapids, Iowa/Coon Rapids-Bayard Reis, a junior infielder, hit .533 with eight hits in 15 at-bats as the Storm went 4-2 during the week at the RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational. He hit two doubles and one home run with five runs scored and eight RBIs and was flawless in 35 chances in the field. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week) |

Martinez, University of Dubuque, Rio Linda, Calif./Grant Martinez, a senior infielder, has opened the season going 13-for-31 at the plate with three doubles, two triples, seven runs scored, and 13 RBI to lead the Spartans through eight games this season. He has twice posted three-hit games, including a 3-for-4 performance with four RBI and three runs scored in game one of a March 7 doubleheader against Waynesburg (Pa.). |
