Kolze, a sophomore guard, averaged 16.5 points,
4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, and shot 40.9 percent (9-of-22)
from the floor and 76.9 percent (10-of-13) from the free throw
line two Conference Tournament games. In a semifinal win over
Simpson (69-52), he scored 10 points, had four rebounds and three
assists. He scored 23 points (on 6-of-11 shooting), had four rebounds,
three assists and a blocked shot in the Championship game against
Buena Vista (77-62), leading Loras to its first Iowa Conference
Tournament title.

White, a junior forward, averaged 20.0 points, 10.0
rebounds and 3.0 assists per game and shot 63.0 percent (17-of-27)
from the floor in victories over Cornell (63-44) and Buena Vista
(68-56) to lead the Duhawks to a 15-1 Conference record. He scored
13 points (on 6-of-13 shooting), had nine rebounds and three assists
against Cornell. In the regular season finale against Buena Vista,
White scored 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting), had 11 rebounds,
three assists, two blocks and two steals.

Clark, a junior guard, averaged 24.0 points, 4.5
assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game, shooting 39.1 percent
(9-of-23) from the floor and 90.3 percent (28-of-31) from the
free throw line in victories over Wartburg (88-73) and Dubuque
(68-62). He scored 29 points, had six rebounds, four steals and
two assists in an 88-73 win over Wartburg. In an IIAC Tournament
berth clinching win over Dubuque, he scored 19 points, including
tying a Central record by connecting on all 13 free throws. He
also had seven assists, two rebounds and two steals.

White, Loras College, Antioch, Ill./Antioch
White, a junior forward, helped Loras improve to its best start
ever in Conference-play (11-0), averaging 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds,
2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He shot 50.0 percent from
the floor (12-of-24) and 69.2 percent from the free throw line
(9-of-13) in victories over Simpson (70-58) and Central (76-65).
He scored 20 points, including 18 in the second half against Simpson.
He also had nine rebounds, two steals and an assist against the
Storm. White recorded his fourth double-double of the season with
16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and two
steals against Central.

Kilburg, a senior forward, averaged 16.3 points,
6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game and shot 78.6 percent (22-of-28)
from the floor in victories over Cornell (69-54), Luther (64-40)
and Dubuque (71-56). He scored 15 points (on 6-of-8 shooting)
and had six rebounds against Cornell, then netted 12 points (on
6-of-9 shooting), six rebounds and two blocks against Luther.
He rounded out the week with 22 points (on 10-of-11 shooting),
eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal against Dubuque.

Daugherty, a junior guard, averaged 31.0 points,
5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game, shot 53.7 percent (22-of-41)
from the floor and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) from the free throw
line while playing all 80 minutes in two games. He scored 30 points
(on 11-of-19 shooting), had six rebounds and five assists in an
84-73 loss to Cornell. In an 88-73 loss to cross-town rival, Loras,
Daugherty scored 32 points (on 11-of-22 shooting), had five assists
and three rebounds.

Wagner, a sophomore guard, averaged 19.7 points,
2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game, shot 47.4 percent from the
floor (18-of-38) including 55.6 percent on 3-pointers (10-of-18),
and 86.7 percent from the free throw line (13-of-15) in three
games during the week. He led Buena Vista in scoring in all three
contests, a 72-70 loss to Central, a 75-69 loss to Conference-leader
Loras and an 84-70 win over Wartburg. Against Central, Wagner
scored 17 points (on 7-of-13 shooting) and handed out three assists.
He scored 17 points (on 3-of-13 shooting from the floor and 8-of-10
from the line), had two rebounds and an assist against Loras.
Wagner scored a season-high 26 points (on 8-of-12 shooting, 5-of-6
on 3-pointers) against Wartburg to go along with two rebounds,
two assists and two steals.

Thomas, a senior forward, averaged 24.7 points,
4.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.0 assists per game while shooting
49.0 percent (24-of-49) from the floor and 69.6 percent (16-of-23)
from the free throw line in three contests during the week. He
scored 21 points, had five steals, four rebounds and an assist
in Dubuque’s 80-61 loss to Coe. Thomas followed that performance
with a 29-point, three-rebound, three-assist outing in a 101-74
victory over Faith Baptist, shooting 71.4 percent from the floor
(10-of-14). He finished his week with 24 points (on 8-of-18 shooting),
six rebounds, three steals and two assists in an 81-68 win over
Simpson.

Hittenmiller, Simpson College, Dyersville, Iowa/Beckman
Hittenmiller, a senior forward, was named Most Valuable
Player of the Cactus Jam after leading Simpson to the Tournament
title averaging 22.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7
steals per game, and shooting 59.5 percent from the floor (25-of-42)
in victories over Mount Union (80-76), Ramapo (86-71) and Edgewood
(69-50). In the Tournament opener against Mount Union, Hittenmiller
scored 24 points (on 7-of-12 shooting), had four rebounds, three
steals and two assists. He netted 20 points (on 7-of-13 shooting),
had six rebounds, four assists and a steal in the semifinal win
over Ramapo. In the Championship game he scored 23 points (on
11-of-17 shooting), had four rebounds and a steal to give the
Storm its first in-season Tournament title since 1999.

LaDew, a sophomore guard, averaged 19.5 points,
3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in two contests during the
week. He shot 46.4 percent from the floor (13-of-28), including
70 percent on 3-pointers (7-of-10), and was perfect on six free
throw attempts. In Cornell’s 64-60 loss to Augustana (Ill.),
he scored 18 points (on 7-of-15 shooting), had four rebounds,
an assist and a steal. LaDew scored 21 points (on 6-of-13 shooting)
to go along with three rebounds and three assists in the Rams’
73-67 win over Mount Mercy.

Soppe, Simpson College, Dyersville, Iowa/Beckman
Soppe, a senior center, averaged 29.0 points, 10.5
rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in two contests during the week.
He combined to shoot 64.7 percent from the floor (22-of-34) and
93.3 percent from the free throw line (14-of-15) in a win over
Iowa Wesleyan (73-60) and loss to Grinnell (139-127). He scored
17 points (on 6-of-10 shooting), had nine rebounds and four assists
against Iowa Wesleyan. Soppe had a double-double in a losing effort
to Grinnell, including 41 points and 12 rebounds. He also contributed
four assists while connecting on 16-of-24 shots from the floor
and all nine free throw attempts. His 41 points are the fifth
most scored in a game in school history.

LaDew, a sophomore guard, averaged 23.5 points, 2.5
rebounds and 1.5 assists per game and shot 57.7 percent from the
floor (15-of-26) including 60.0 percent from behind the 3-point
arc (6-of-10) in two games. He scored a game-high 25 points (on
9-of-14 shooting) to go along with two rebounds, an assist and a
steal in Cornell’s 81-67 loss to Central. In a 67-59 victory
over Clarke, he scored 22 points (on 6-of-12 shooting), had three
rebounds and two assists. |

Mason, Wartburg College, Kansas City, Mo./West Des Moines Valley
Mason, a sophomore guard, was named Most Valuable
Player of the Nebraska Wesleyan Snyder Classic after averaging 17.0
points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game, and shot 77.8 percent
(14-of-18) from the floor in victories over Peru State and Nebraska
Wesleyan. In a 97-53 win over Peru State, he scored 12 points on
5-of-7 shooting (71.4 percent), had four assists and a rebound.
He scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting (77.8 percent) and had three
rebounds and an assist in an 81-58 win over the Classic’s
host.

Parkinson, Simpson College, Scottsdale, Ariz./Horizon
Parkinson, a senior guard, became the 16th Simpson
men’s basketball player to surpass the 1,000 career point
plateau with his career-high 31-point performance in the Storm’s
82-71 victory over Elmhurst. He shot 50 percent from the floor
overall (10-of-20) and on 3-pointers (5-of-10), and also added
two rebounds and two assists.
