Nov. 13
Vance Schuring, Central College, Pella, Iowa/Pella
Schuring, a sophomore running back, rushed for 190 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries in Central’s 28-6 victory over Buena Vista. The 190 yards are a career high for Schuring, whose previous high was the 175 yards he rushed for against Wartburg on Nov. 5.

Vance Schuring, Central College, Pella, Iowa/Pella
Schuring, a sophomore running back, rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries in Central’s 37-20 victory over Wartburg. His 175 yards are the most by a Central runner since Marc Ricketts gained 201 yards against Loras in 1998. Schuring became Central’s first 1,000-yard rusher since Rickets in 1998 and currently has 1,113 rushing yards, the seventh-highest single season total in school history.

Oct. 30
Andy TeKippe, Coe College, West Union, Iowa/North Fayette
TeKippe, a sophomore quarterback, threw for 323 yards and a school record six touchdowns on 20-of-27 passing in Coe’s 56-21 victory over Cornell. All six of his touchdown passes and 293 of his passing yards came in the first half as the Kohawks found the end zone on all seven first half possessions in the 115th meeting between the two schools (the oldest college football rivalry west of the Mississippi).

Jesse Schmidt, Buena Vista, Laurens, Iowa/Laurens-Marathon
Schmidt, a senior wide receiver, had 158 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches in Buena Vista’s 26-21 victory over Luther and moved into second-place on the school’s all-time receiving yardage list. He now has 1,977 career receiving yards and a school record 31 touchdown catches.
Oct. 16
Vance Schuring, Central, Pella, Iowa/Pella
Schuring, a sophomore running back, totaled 184 yards of total offense and 183 all-purpose yards in Central’s 40-35 victory over Luther. Included in his yardage was a career-high 172 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 27 carries as he went over the 100-yard rushing mark for the sixth time in seven games. Schuring also had one reception for 11 yards and completed his only pass attempt for a 12-yard touchdown. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week)
Oct. 9
Neil Suckow, Coe, Fredericksburg, Iowa/Fredericksburg
Suckow, a sophomore running back/wide receiver, amassed 226 all-purpose yards in Coe’s 45-14 victory over Buena Vista extending the Kohawks win streak to nine straight dating back to last season. He had eight receptions for a career-high 157 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 20 yards and two scores on nine carries. Suckow also returned one kickoff for 51 yards.
Oct. 2
Reed Hoskins, Wartburg, Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell
Hoskins, a senior quarterback, completed 21-of-30 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns in Wartburg’s 38-14 victory over Buena Vista. He finished the game with his second career 300-yard passing game and a 191.48 passer rating. It was his second straight three-touchdown performance and third of the season.
Sept. 25
Tyler Sherden, Luther, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall
Sherden, a junior running back, amassed 271 all-purpose yards and accounted for 203 of Luther’s 280 yards of total offense as the Norse defeated Wartburg for the first time since 1991. He ran for 203 yards and two touchdowns on 41 carries to go along with two receptions for seven yards and three kick returns for 61 yards. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week)
Sept. 18
Chad Hinrichs, Buena Vista, Victor, Iowa/HLV
Hinrichs, a senior corner back, tied a school record with three interceptions, including a fourth quarter pick that he returned 55-yards for a touchdown to seal Buena Vista’s 14-0 victory over Loras. He also recorded five tackles, four solo. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week)
Sept. 11
Jermar Jackson, Dubuque, Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon
Jackson, a junior quarterback, amassed 398 yards of total offense and accounted for seven touchdowns in Dubuque’s 49-6 victory over Blackburn. He completed 27-of-43 passes for 358 yards and five touchdowns for a pass efficiency rating of 171.10. Jackson also rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Sept. 4
Brennan McCarron, Loras, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert
McCarron, a freshman running back, rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries (7.5 yards/carry) in Loras’ 48-3 win over Concordia (Ill.).
