Feb. 26

Josh Hauser, Wartburg College, Union, Iowa/BCLUW
Hauser, a senior, was named IIAC Most Valuable Performer at the Conference Championship after winning two events and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in another. He placed first in the 200 and 400-meter dashes (22.36 seconds and 49.66 seconds) and used a third-place finish in the long jump, with a mark of 6.98 meters, to provisionally qualify for nationals. He was also a member of the third-place finishing 4x200 relay team (1:29.75). Hauser was also named 2005 indoor and outdoor track and field Most Valuable Performer.

Feb. 19

Tyler Sherden, Luther College, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall
Sherden, a junior, won the 400-meter dash at the UNI-Dome Open in 49.77 seconds, besting the multi-divisional field by 69/100ths of a second. He also ran the anchor leg of the second-place finishing 4x400 relay team that ran a school record time of 3:20.75.

Feb. 12

Josh Hauser, Wartburg College, Union, Iowa/BCL-UW (Conrad)
Hauser, a senior, won the 400-meter dash (49.45) and was a member of the winning 4x400 relay team (3:20.98) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk Classic. Both times were NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

Feb. 5

Keith Solverson, Wartburg College, Fort Dodge, Iowa/St. Edmond’s
Solverson, a senior, provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the mile with a fourth-place finish at the Minnesota State Mankato Maverick Open. His time of 4:15.76 was tops among Division III runners and was 64/100ths behind the second-place finisher.

Jan. 29

Jeanriles Metezier, Univ. of Dubuque, Pompano Beach, Fla./Coconut Creek
Metezier, a freshman, was a two-time winner at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational. He provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.49 seconds, besting a field of 57 runners. He also finished first of 58 runners in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.95 seconds.

Jan. 22

Kyle Calvert, Loras College, Pekin, Ill./Pekin
Calvert, a freshman, provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the pole vault in his first collegiate meet, winning the event at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Triangular with a school-record mark of 4.75 meters.

Jan. 15

Robert Delsing, Simpson College, Iowa City, Iowa/City
Delsing, a senior, won the weight throw and finished fifth in the shot put at the Graceland Invitational with throws of 47-7.25 and 37-0.75, respectively.
