May 15 | Josh Hauser, Wartburg, Jr. | Named IIAC men’s outdoor track and field
Most Valuable Performer taking home the title in three events including
the 200-meters (21.67), the 400-meters (47.91) and the 4x400 relay (3:18.36).
Also placed second in the long jump (7.00m) and was a member of the fourth-place
4x100 relay team (42.14). Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship
in the 200-meters and the long jump. |
May 8 | Ross Parker, Simpson, Sr. | Won two events, provisionally qualifying
for the NCAA Championships in both, and finished fourth in another at
the Simpson Invitational. Won, and for the second week in a row broke
the school shot put record with a throw of 55-11.75, winning the event
by nearly seven feet. Also won the discus with a career-best throw of
162-4, winning the event by 16 feet. Finished fourth in the hammer with
a mark of 146-0. |
May 1 | Andy Stoecken, Loras, Jr. | Won the high jump at the Drake Relays with an NCAA
automatic qualifying jump of 7-1.75, breaking one of Loras’ oldest track
and field records previously set in 1985. He won the event by 1.5 inches. |
April 24 | DeAndre Bovan, Dubuque, Sr. | Won two events, provisionally qualifying for the
NCAA Championship in one, at Grinnell’s Dick Young Classic. Won and provisionally
qualified for the NCAA’s in the triple jump with a jump of 47-6.25. Also
won the long jump with a mark of 22-3. |
April 17 | Cale Van Genderen, Central, Sr. | Won the high jump at Drake’s Jim Duncan Invitational
with an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying jump of 6-10.75. He was
a quarter inch shy of the automatic qualifying height in winning the event
by two inches in a field that included Division I and II athletes. |
April 10 | Daunta Peterson, Dubuque, Jr. | Led the Spartans to their first meet win in over
a decade as he won two events and finished third in another at the Cornell
Relays. Won the 100-meter dash in 11.0 seconds and ran the second leg
(10.0 second split) of the winning 4x100 relay in 42.6 seconds. Finished
third in the 200-meter dash (22.63). |
April 3 | John Reilly, Loras, Sr. | Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships
in two events at the Central Invitational. Won the shot put with a throw
of 54-2 and finished second in the discus with a throw of 159-4.75. |
March 27 | Basil Steele, Dubuque, Sr. | Won the 110-meter hurdles at the Wartburg Midweek
Open in a time of 14.97 seconds, and ran the lead leg for the winning
4x100 relay team (42.13 seconds). |
March 20 | Matt Albert, Simpson, Sr. | Five top-15 finishes at the Florida State Relays
including third-place finishes in the Garnet 110-meter hurdles (14.82)
and Garnet 400-meter hurdles (54.14). The 110-meter hurdle time is an
NCAA provisional qualifying time and was the fourth fastest time in school
history. Also ran in three Gold events – the 4x100 relay (8th, 45.29),
the 4x400 relay (10th, 3:21.40) and the 110-meter hurdles (12th, 16.04). |
