RAPIDS, IOWA . . . The
Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today
that Luther College junior Christian Klein
(Decorah, Iowa/Minnetonka (Minn.)) was named IIAC men’s
tennis Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March
5.
Klein
went 3-0 during the week with a singles victory over a nationally
ranked opponent and a Division II opponent. He posted a three-set
victory at #2 singles over Adam Morgan of Gustavus Adolphus,
the 30th-ranked player in the nation (4-6, 6-3, 10-7) and a
two-set victory at #1 singles over Michael Belisle of Division
II Minnesota State-Mankato (6-1, 6-2). Klein and doubles partner
Reid Mason defeated Gustavus Adolphus’ Griffin Foley/Aaron
Zenner at #3 doubles (8-6). Gustavus is ranked fourth in the
nation as a team.
