CEDAR
RAPIDS, IOWA . . . The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (IIAC) announced today that Loras College swimmer
Lauren Lehenbauer (Davenport, Iowa/Bettendorf)
and University of Dubuque football player Jermar Jackson
(Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon) have been named the IIAC Female and
Male Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November
11. The Conference also announced the Performers of the Week
for each of the Conference’s four sports in competition
during the week.
Football
– Jermar Jackson, University of Dubuque, Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon
Jackson, a senior quarterback, played a part in
all five Dubuque touchdowns in the Spartans’ 34-31 season-ending
win over Luther. Jackson ran for three touchdowns (10, 1, 3)
and threw for two others (18, 52). He completed 10 of 19 passes
for 163 yards and two touchdowns (18, 52) through the air, while
carrying the ball 31 times for 127 yards and three scores (10,
1, 3). Jackson led the Spartans to their best record since 1980,
finishing his career with 10,148 yards of total offense which
places him 18th in the NCAA Division III record book with 2,323
yards rushing and 7,825 yards passing. With 103 touchdowns (47
rushing, 56 passing) and 282 points, Jackson also averaged 307.7
yards of total offense per game and 5.2 yards per rush. (IIAC

Women’s Swimming and Diving – Lauren
Lehenbauer, Loras College, Davenport, Iowa/Bettendorf
Lehanbauer, a junior, won four events (three individual,
one relay) while leading the Duhawks to a team title at the
Monmouth Invitational. Lehenbauer won the 400 individual medley
(4:47.83) by over eight seconds, the 200 butterfly (2:17.81)
by more than 10 seconds, and the 500 freestyle (5:24.13) by
better than 16 seconds. She also swam the third leg of the victorious
200 medley relay (2:01.15). (IIAC Female Athlete

Wrestling
– Chris Heilman, Cornell College, Colorado Springs, Colo./St.
Mary’s
Heilman, a senior, went 4-0 in claiming the 125-pound
Gold title at the Pointer Open in Stevens Point, Wis. He allowed
only five points in four matches, opening an 18-0 technical
fall over Indianapolis’ Josh Allen. Heilman followed that
up with major decisions over North Central College’s Joe
Norton (12-0) and UW-Parkside’s Brandon Kircher (11-1),
before defeating Upper Iowa’s Tyler Mumbulo 11-4 in the
final. All except Norton wrestle for Division II schools.
Men’s
Swimming and Diving – Cameron Webb, Luther College, Carroll,
Iowa/Carroll
Webb, a junior, was part of three Luther pool
records in the Norse’s 127-39 victory over Morningside.
Webb set the pool record in the 500 freestyle (4:54.49) and
was a member of record-setting 400 medley (3:35.86) and 400
freestyle (3:15.45) relays.

Outstanding Weekly Performers
The IIAC also recognized the following outstanding
athletic performances from the past week.
Football
– Central College senior stinger (DB/LB) Dustyn
Baethke (Williamsburg, Iowa/Williamsburg) made 12 tackles
(six solo) in Central’s 17-14 win over Wartburg. After
missing most of the season with an injury, Baethke led a Central
defense which limited the Knights to 14 points – 15 below
their season average.
Football
– Coe College junior wide receiver/defensive back/kick
returner Tommy Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier)
caught three passes for 77 yards in the Kohawks’ 17-6
win over Cornell, including a 43-yard diving catch to set up
Coe up for the go-ahead touchdown. Breitbach also had seven
tackles, an interception, and returned one kick for 23 yards.
Football
– Simpson College running back Adam Reutzel
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Prairie) rushed for 230 yards on 28 carries
in the Storm’s 14-3 win over Buena Vista. Reutzel’s
yardage total is the most by a Simpson back since 2001 and the
11th highest single-game total in school history.
Wrestling
– Coe College junior Bryon Grothus (Davenport,
Iowa/Assumption) went undefeated in four duals at 157-lbs. at
the Lakeland Duals. Grothus pinned fifth-rankeed Jesse Milks
of UW-Platteville in 1:00 to help the seventh-ranked Kohawks
to a 4-0 start to the season.
Wrestling
– Luther College senior A.J. Gregg (Decorah,
Iowa/Decorah) placed first in the 184-lbs. Gold bracket at the
UW-Stevens Point Pointer Open posting a record of 3-0. Gregg
defeated Eric Bugenhagen of Wisconsin 5-0 in the title bout.
