Paulson, a sophomore, captured medalist honors at the 2009 IIAC Women’s Golf Championship for the second consecutive season with a school record 73-72-73-82—300, breaking the 72-hole individual Championship record by six strokes. She posted the low total (155) over the Championship’s final 36 holes and now holds the 18-, 36-, and 72-hole individual scoring records at the IIAC Women’s Golf Championship. Behind Paulson, the Dutch placed second for the second straight year with a team total of 322-305-332-344—1,303. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)

Sarah Paulson, Central College, Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa
Paulson, a sophomore, is the 36-hole leader at the 2009 IIAC Women’s Golf Championship. She established a new 36-hole Conference record with her 73-72—145 total and leads the 43-golfer field by three strokes heading into the tournament’s final weekend. She also led the Dutch to a Championship-record 305 in round two Saturday. Central sits second at 322-305—627, surpassing the previous 36-hole Championship team mark of 628.

Sarah Paulson, Central College, Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa
Paulson, a sophomore, finished fourth out of 112 golfers at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic. A 36-hole total of 80-75—155 placed her nine shots behind the meet medalist in a tournament field that featured six nationally ranked teams.

Ellen Rickert, Wartburg College, Davenport, Iowa/Hudson (Iowa)
Rickert, a senior, captured medalist honors in the 105-golfer field at the Wartburg Fall Invitational. She fired rounds of 73 and 77 for a 36-hole total of 150 to finish one stroke ahead of Central’s Eva Downes. Rickert (along with Downes) posted the low round of the tournament with her first-round 73. She guided the Knights to a runner-up finish in the 22-team field. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Sept. 6, 2009
Sarah Paulson, Central College, Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa
Paulson, a sophomore, captured medalist honors in the 65-golfer field at the Central Dutch Invitational. She fired back-to-back 79s for a 36-hole total of 158 and finished eight shots of the runner-up Jen Lawson of team champion Truman State. The Dutch finished second in the 11-team field.
