Nov. 4
Rachel Oswald, Wartburg College, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert
Oswald, a junior forward, netted the lone goal in Wartburg’s 1-0 victory over Loras in the championship match of the Iowa Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament to secure the Knights’ first IIAC Tournament title and the program’s first bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. The win over the Duhawks also tied the Wartburg single-season record for victories with 16.

Oct. 28
Katee Whitney, Loras College, Aloha, Ore./Valley Catholic
Whitney, a senior midfielder, accounted for both goals in Loras’ 2-1 victory at Luther Saturday. The first gave the Duhawks a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, while the second came with just nine seconds remaining in the second overtime. The win concluded a perfect conference season for Loras and gave the Duhawks the top seed in the IIAC Tournament.

Oct. 21
Samantha Messacar, Loras College, St. Charles, Ill./North
Messacar
, a sophomore midfielder, scored three goals on 12 shots while leading the Duhawks to wins over Buena Vista (6-0) and Cornell (3-1) and clinching at least a share of the IIAC title. Messacar scored two goals against the Beavers Oct. 17 and then notched the game-winner against the Rams Oct. 20.
Oct. 14

Leanne Carberry, Cornell College, Idledale, Colo./Bear Creek
Carberry
, a freshman forward, tallied four goals and one assist in three matches last week, helping the Rams to clinch an IIAC Tournament berth with wins over Coe (4-0) and Luther (3-2). Carberry leads Cornell in scoring with points (10 goals, 1 assist).

Oct. 7

Rachel Oswald, Wartburg College, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert
Oswald, a junior forward, led Wartburg in goals, points, and shots as the Knights posted wins over Buena Vista (7-0), Northwestern (Iowa) (3-0) and Central (2-1) and extended their winning streak to seven games. Oswald also moved over the 10-goal mark for the season and tallied the game-winning goal against the Dutch.

Sept. 30
Emily Ironside, Luther College, Dubuque, Iowa/Senior
Ironside, a junior forward, scored three goals and an assist on the week to lead the Norse to a 2-0 record. Ironside notched the only goal in a 1-0 win over UW-Whitewater then added two goals and an assist in a 5-2 IIAC win at Buena Vista. Ironside leads the team with eight goals this season.
Sept. 23
Caitlin Tero, University of Dubuque, Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia
Tero, a senior midfielder, scored four goals and an assist to lead the University of Dubuque to a 2-0-1 record on the week. Tero assisted on the game-winning goal late in a 2-1 win at Ashford, scored the lone goal in a tie with Central and netted three goals in the final seven minutes against Wisconsin-Stout to turn a 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 victory for the Spartans. Sept. 16
Caitlin Tero, University of Dubuque, Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia
Tero, a senior midfielder, scored two goals and one assist to lead the Spartans to 1-0-1 record on the week. Tero assisted on Dubuque’s lone goal in a 1-1 draw with Wisconsin-Platteville, breaking the UD career assists record with her 40th career helper. Tero added two goals in a 4-2 win over Wisconsin Lutheran Sept. 16 to push her career goals total to 44.
Sept. 9
Tori Rittman, Central College, Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny
Rittman, a senior forward, scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the second overtime of a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Bethel (Minn.) Sept. 8. The goal was the 45th of her career, breaking Central’s career scoring mark. Earlier in the week, Rittman had three goals in win over Mount Mercy – the fifth three-goal game of her career. Sept. 2
Jamie Frederick, Wartburg College, Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus
Frederick, a junior midfielder, scored the game-winning goal in overtime against UW-Whitewater Sept. 2 and compiled her first career hat trick in a 9-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran Sept. 3 as Wartburg opened the 2007 season with a 3-0 mark.
