Torey Murray, Loras College, Des Moines, Iowa/Lincoln
Murray, a senior goalkeeper, shut out Luther College 2-0 in a Iowa Conference Tournament semifinal match with three saves and also earned a tie in the final against Wartburg. She turned away two penalty-kicks in the shootout to determine the Automatic Qualifier.

Leanne Carberry, Cornell College, Idledale, Colo./Bear Creek
Carberry, a sophomore forward, recorded a hat trick – the third of her career – in a 3-2 win over Coe that helped the Rams clinch a berth in the IIAC Tournament. She ranks second in the league in points (2.24 per game) and goals (0.88 per game). Carberry (4 goals, 1 assist) figured in all five of Cornell’s goals during the week.

Katy Wendt, Wartburg College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a freshman midfielder, turned in two goals, including the eventual game-winner in the 21st minute, as Wartburg wrapped up its first Iowa Conference Championship in women’s soccer with a 5-0 win over Central Oct. 25. Wendt also registered an assist in a 3-2 win at UW-La Crosse Oct. 23.

Whitney Franker, Simpson College, Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale
Franker, a senior goalkeeper, broke the Simpson school record for career victories as the Storm defeated Central 6-0 Oct. 18 in Pella. The victory was the 36th of Franker’s career, breaking the old mark of 35 which was set by Ashley Wilson from 1999-2002. The shutout was the 23rd of Franker’s career, which is also a Simpson school record. She raised her school record for career saves to 387 during the week.

Rachel Oswald, Wartburg College, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert
Oswald, a senior forward, reached the 50-goal mark for her career with three goals during the week. She scored two against Coe, including the game-winner in a 3-0 shutout. The Knights posted a 3-0 record and pushed their current win string to seven matches. Oswald also moved into first place on the program’s career shots list. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)

Whitney Franker, Simpson College, Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale
Franker, a senior goalkeeper, increased her school record victory total to 22 with a 1-0 shutout win over Coe Oct. 4. She is now one win away from the Simpson school record for career wins (34) and has recorded three straight shutouts dating back to Sept. 27.

Rachel Coleman, Wartburg College, Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka & Christie Ernst, Wartburg College, Carol Stream, Ill./Zurich West
Coleman, a junior goalkeeper, and Ernst, a senior goalkeeper, combined for back-to-back shutouts during the week and helped the Knights topple previous NSCAA Central Region No. 5 Loras, 2-0, in the Iowa Conference opener Sept. 27. The pair helped run Wartburg’s current shutout streak to better than 372 minutes.

Rachel Oswald, Wartburg College, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert
Oswald, a senior forward, scored both goals in a 2-0 Wartburg win at St. Olaf Sept. 17. She set a new career goals standard for Wartburg with her 43rd and 44th goals to pass former standout Tiffany (Treanor) Pins on the all-time list. Oswald also posted her third game-winning goal of the season.

Torey Murray, Loras College, Des Moines, Iowa/Lincoln
Murray, a senior goalkeeper, made eight saves en route to 1-0 shutout of No. 1 and two-time defending national champion Wheaton (Ill.). With the win, the Duhawks snapped the Thunder’s 48-match winning streak. It was the first time the Thunder had been shutout since the opening game of the 2004 season. Ashly Hamilton, University of Dubuque, Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott
Hamilton, a junior midfielder/forward, scored two goals in each of Dubuque’s two wins last week. She netted the game-winner in a 5-0 win over Concordia Chicago Friday and gave the Spartans breathing room in a 3-0 win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College Saturday.

Emily Ironside, Luther College, Dubuque, Iowa/Senior
Ironside, a senior forward, scored three goals over the weekend in helping Luther win the team championship of the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warrior Cup Tournament. She scored two, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater and another in a 3-0 win over Beloit.
