Offense: Sara Fassbinder, University of Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert
Fassbinder, a junior forward, helped the No. 2-seed Spartans win the IIAC Tournament Championship, scoring the team’s only goals. The Spartans qualified for the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship for the first time in school history and set a school record in wins with 15. UD was picked to finish fifth in the preseason coaches’ poll. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Defense: Natalie Baker, University of Dubuque, Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine
Baker, a junior goalkeeper, allowed only one goal in regulation as the No. 2 Spartans won the IIAC Women’s Soccer Tournament title. She earned her seventh shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Simpson in the Tournament final. |

Offense: Maria Szakos, Univ. of Dubuque, Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville
Szakos, a freshman forward, scored two goals and an assist in a 7-2 win at Cornell Oct. 31 to secure a school-best runner-up finish in the final IIAC standings for the Spartans
Defense: Megan Peterson, Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa/Indianola
Peterson, a freshman goalkeeper, grabbed 14 saves in Saturday’s double-overtime loss to Loras, making a number of difficult saves. The 14 saves is the most for a Simpson goalkeeper in a single game since 2006 and ties for the second-most amount of saves in a game in program history. |

Offense: Christina Skaar, Buena Vista University, Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi
Skaar, a junior defender/midfielder, turned in the game-tying goal in an overtime loss to York College and added two goals in a 4-1 win over Cornell, leading the Beavers to their first Iowa Conference victory since 2005. She is now tied for the team lead in goals.
Defense: Erin Ridley, Coe College, St. Paul, Minn./Convent of the Visitation
Ridley, a senior goalkeeper, recorded 13 saves during the week, posting 1-0 wins over both Wartburg and Central. |

Offense: Kate Young, Loras College, Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah
Young, a sophomore forward, scored two goals, including the game-winner, at Coe Oct. 14, and also netted the game-tying goal against in the 80th minute against No. 7 Wartburg Oct. 17.
Defense: Hannah Wright, Luther College, West St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy
Wright, a junior goalkeeper, ran her streak of consecutive shutouts to four with wins over Buena Vista (5-0) and Wis.-Platteville (3-0), and a tie at Gustavus Adolphus (0-0). |

Offense: Annie Fangman, Wartburg College, Winthrop, Iowa/East Buchanan
Fangman, a junior midfielder, scored her first career hat trick in just over a five-minute period during the second half of a win over Buena Vista as part of a 4-goal, 9-point week on just nine shot attempts. She score the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Wisconsin-La Crosse. She ranked first on the team in goals and points during the week. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Defense: Hannah Wright, Luther College, West St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy
Wright, a junior goalkeeper, was credited with three saves, including a point-blank shot, in an overtime win over Simpson. It was her third shutout of the season. She also made six saves in a scoreless, double-overtime draw with Loras. |

Offense: Kate Young, Loras College, Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah
Young, a sophomore forward, accounted for half of Loras’ 10 goals last week. She scored a hat trick in the opening 20 minutes of a 4-0 win over Wisconsin-La Crosse Sept. 30 and followed that up with a pair of goals in a 6-0 win over Central Oct. 3.
Defense: Kelly Murphy, Loras College, Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew
Murphy, a junior defender, helped the Duhawks post shutouts of Wisconsin-La Crosse (4-0) and Central (6-0) during the week. She also added an assist offensively against Wisconsin-La Crosse. |

Offense: Katy Wendt, Wartburg College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Wendt, a sophomore forward, accounted for three of the Knights’ five goals during the week as No. 11/12-ranked Wartburg (7-0-1) extended its unbeaten streak to 22 matches with wins over St. Olaf and Simpson. She scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Simpson and turned in the first goal and eventual game-winner in a key regional win over St. Olaf. (IIAC Women’s Athlete of the Week)
Defense: Erica Frana, Loras College, New Berlin, Wis./Nathan Hale
Frana, marked out a high-powered Augustana (Ill.) attacker/offense midweek. The 8-0 Vikings scored one goal on a free kick and another on a Loras miscommunication between the goalkeeper and a separate defender. |
Sept. 20, 2009 |
Offense: Nicole Dillenburg, Simpson College, Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale
Dillenburg, a sophomore midfielder, scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 Storm win over William Penn Sept. 16. While only her second match of the season due to illness, it was the third multi-goal match of her career.
Defense: Christina Ernst, Wartburg College, Coral Stream, Ill./Wheaton North
Ernst, a senior goalkeeper, recorded her third straight and sixth career shutout with a 1-0 victory at Grand View as the Knights continued their best start since the 2004 squad went 8-0. The victory pushed Ernst’s scoreless minutes streak to 336 minutes and 43 seconds. |

Offense: Kelsey Reitmeier, Buena Vista University, Sioux City, Iowa/North
Reitmeier, a sophomore forward, helped lead the Beavers to their first win of the season by scoring three goals and dishing out two assists against Presentation Sept. 13. She now leads the team in both categories and has scored 10 goals in 23 career games.
Defense: Christina Ernst, Wartburg College, Coral Stream, Ill./Wheaton North
Ernst, a senior goalkeeper, posted shutouts of both Saint Benedict (1-0) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (2-0) last week, extending a run of better than 215 scoreless minutes. The shutouts represent half of Ernst’s four career blank sheets. |

Chelsea Kittleson, University of Dubuque, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton
Kittleson, a junior midfielder/forward, scored six goals – including two game-winners – and three assists as the Spartans opened the season with a 3-0 record. In the season opener against Illinois College, Kittleson scored two goals and three assists. |
