Kelsie Allen, Luther College, Eagan, Minn./Eastview Allen, a senior, captured the Flight A singles title at the Iowa Conference Women’s Tennis Individual Championships, needing third-set tiebreakers to win her quarterfinal, semifinal, and championship matches. She became the first Luther player since Maria Miller in 1999 to with the Conference’s top singles title. Allen and partner Brynne Zinnecker also finished third in Flight A doubles. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week) Coe College doubles team of Andrea Schupbach (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) and Michelle Schupbach (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) Andrea, a senior, and Michelle, a freshman, teamed to capture the Flight A doubles title at the Iowa Conference Women’s Tennis Individual Championships, topping Luther’s Katy Lindstrom and Fran Fairfield 8-3 in the final. The pair became the third straight Coe tandem to capture the IIAC’s top doubles title. Andrea Schupbach also captured her second individual title after teaming with Molly Fiala to win the 2007 Flight A doubles title. |

Kelsie Allen, Luther College, Eagan, Minn./Eastview Allen, a senior, posted three victories to lead Luther to its league-record 24th IIAC women’s tennis title. In a 5-0 semifinal victory over Wartburg, she teamed with Brynne Zinnecker for an 8-5 victory at No. 1 singles over Molly Eslick and Leanna Nelson. In the championship match against Coe, Allen and Zinnecker topped Andrea Schupbach and Michelle Schupbach by a 8-6 score. Allen provide the clinching point with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Hannah Jensen at No. 1 singles. |

Jenny Dallenbach, Wartburg College, Decorah, Iowa/Decorah Dallenbach, a freshman, went 4-0 during the week, helping guide the Knights to their 11th and 12th duals of the fall. The 12 wins ties the 2007-08 squad for the most wins in a season amongst recent Knights’ squads. She currently ranks second on the team in singles wins after winning eight of her last 10 matches and has joined doubles partner sophomore Leanna Jenkins for the second-most victories in that category as well. |

Molly Eslick, Wartburg College, Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge Eslick, a junior, reached the quarterfinal round of the ITA Midwest Region Singles Championship for the third consecutive year. She was the last remaining Iowa Conference player in the draw when she was eliminated. She had been undefeated and harbored a 21-match winning streak before the quarterfinal loss to Gustavus Adolphus’ Sierra Krebsbach. |

Caryl Abeyta, Cornell College, Eaton, Colo./Eaton Abeyta, a senior, became the ninth women’s tennis player in Cornell history to reach 100 career wins, currently with 104. She finished the week 6-2 overall, including a 4-0 mark at No. 2 singles. She stands seventh on the schools’ all-time list in both wins (54) and doubles wins (61). |

Hannah Jensen, Coe College, Iowa City, Iowa/West Jensen, a junior, went 2-0 at No. 1 singles during the week while teaming with Megan Fiala for a 2-0 record at No. 3 doubles in team wins over Simpson (8-1) and Luther (6-3). She improved to 4-0 for the year at both No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles. |

Molly Eslick, Wartburg College, Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge Eslick, a junior, eclipsed the 50-career-wins mark in singles with a 5-0 record at No. 1 singles last week. All five victories were in straight sets. She also paired with Leanna Nelson to post a 4-1 record at No. 1 doubles. Eslick helped guided the Knights to a 3-2 start to the season. |
